Why I founded Eaventure
The translation industry changed faster than most organisations could follow. AI and machine translation arrived quickly, but the thinking behind their adoption did not keep pace. Companies adopted new tools without asking the harder questions: who is responsible when quality fails? What content actually needs human review? How do you measure whether your multilingual operation is working? Those questions were consistently left unanswered, and the costs showed up later: in rework, in compliance issues, in inconsistent brand communication across markets.
I founded Eaventure because I knew what was missing. Not another tool. Not another vendor. A governance layer: the structured thinking, decision rules and frameworks that help organisations use AI and translation resources deliberately rather than reactively.
My background
I have worked in and around the translation industry since 2007, as a subtitler in London, as a translation project manager at an agency in Amstelveen, and for the past decade as a freelance translator and language consultant for international clients across legal, financial, technology and marketing sectors.
That background means I know how translation actually works in practice. I know what happens when governance is absent. I know where costs hide and where quality breaks down. Eaventure is built on that practical knowledge, not on frameworks developed at a distance from the work.
I hold a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and undergraduate degrees in Scandinavian languages. I work in Dutch, English, German, French and Danish, with working knowledge of several other languages.
How I work
Eaventure is an independent practice. I do not sell translation services, AI tools or vendor contracts. That independence is deliberate: the governance frameworks I design serve your organisation, not a commercial interest of my own.
